Listen.

[source]

Some many of us believe that we have a higher purpose. Eckhart Tolle says that whatever we are doing at that moment is our purpose. The key to that is awareness. That’s nice and I totally 100% agree with him, but a lot of us aren’t at that point yet. We just know that there is something more that we should be doing.

Here’s what I think. The very thing that is telling you that you have a higher purpose is what will lead you in the right direction. That itch, that unpleasantness, that knowingness that this isn’t all to life is your inner being trying to burst out and shine.

Regardless of what our society tells us, working to pay bills or pay off debt isn’t what life is about. It’s not just about playing a role as the caretaker, husband, wife, daughter, friend, etc. I am not implying that those things are not important, but you and I both know that that is not the end.

What we need to do is find our voice. Find what will make us soar, that thing that will lead us to our purpose so that we can bloom and lead an even more fulfilling and beautiful life.

I have a secret I’d like to share.

You already have all the answers.

Deep down, your soul is telling you what to do, how to truly live, how to connect with that bliss that is the divine within us all. All you need to do is listen.

It’s as simple as that. I don’t have a numerical list for you to follow to connect and find your purpose; that is all I have to offer because it is truly that simple. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and listen. Not to outside noises, but to yourself. Connect with your being, sit, and listen. Eventually you will find stillness, a being within you that has all the answers, it was just waiting for you to pay attention.

Once we start listening to ourselves, and not to what society tells us, we can start stepping in the direction we are supposed to, and we will find that this path is so much more fulfilling.

It’s also important to remember that on the outside nothing may change at all. You might still have the same job, and do the same things, but your reasoning behind it will be different; your mindset will come from your core and not from outside conditions.

You are remarkable. You are designed for greatness. Listen to yourself, and you’ll see first hand that everything that I feel about you, is how you feel about yourself as well.

Don't forget to share the love :]

  1. Love this post and so relevant to my life now.  I often have to remind myself that I need to do what I do, WHATEVER I do as an expression of who I am.  It's hard though.  Purpose matters, I guess.  But more than that, most of us find it hard to distance ourselves from those that are not in tune with ourselves.  As you grow...  As I have grown, I have grown more sensitive to things like energy of people and making sure that what I say was in line with what I wanted to create.  This is much harder when you find yourself with people that don't match your ideals, values and/or morals.  I know that if I grow a little more, I will get there, being able to accept everyone around me regardless of whether we agree or not.  But right now, I need to move to a space where I find myself among those of similiar mindset.  My search for purpose was more about finding something that enhanced me and finding others there also, than finding any ONE thing to do with my life.

Don't get me wrong, I don't criticise those that are different from me, but I find it hard to work with someone who has an out of control temper, massacres trees or has an inability to communicate.

And although it must be said that what we do now is our purpose, I have seen that some people have an inclination towards teaching, but they work in finances, or people who are able healers and listeners, but work behind sales counters....  Some areas are just our skills, and most people lose theirs these days ending up choosing paying the bills over living their life.

    I loved your post.

  2. Thank you so much Nadya!

You know it's funny- I've grown more sensitive to the energy of others as well. A lot of the people that are in my life do not fit into the direction my life is going. It's hard to let them go even though it may not be necessary to let them go completely, the idea of us drifting apart saddens me a bit. I have found that the more I grow and go in a spiritual direction, places have begun to pop up that I can go to confide in like-minded individuals. It's funny how the universe works ;)

I totally agree with all your points. You're very wise. I appreciate your insight!
